It's Summer in Thailand but my husband and I can't escape from work and go to the sea as we always did....so, we took a one day trip to WANGTAKRAI BOTANICAL PARK.
Wangtakrai, which is located in Nakorn-nayok province. It is quite close to Namtok Sarika (Sarika waterfall) , is a resort and a botanical garden belonging to the Chumphot - Phanthip Foundation.
Founded in 1962 by (Former) M.R.Panthip Barabhat ม.ร.ว.หญิง พันธุ์ทิพย์ บริพัตร. Before 1962 this is her and her pass away hubby, the Royal Prince Jumbhot-Barabhat private property. After his death, M.R.Panthip open Wangtakrai to public visit in 1965.
Wangtakrai encompasses a total area of 1,500 rai (about 600 acres) and is renowned for its scenic landscape, small rocky creek and wide variety of plants. In addition, there is a wide range of activities awaiting visitors including swimming, riding downstream on inflated tire inner tubes, canoeing, or cycling. Camp sites and bungalow facilities are also available.
It is located in Hing Tang Sub-district, approximately 16 kilometers from Nakorn-nayok town and only 105 km. far from Bangkok. A fun, one-day trip is possible, as visitors may drive to all the attractions within the compound.
The entrance fee is very cheap (only Bht 100.-/saloon car) because the owner wanted to give poor people a chance to enjoy their lives in a beautiful and very natural place.
In the weekend, many people go there for picnic, enjoy swimming in the creek and explored forestry or just escape from big city for awhile. However, my family and I love to go there on a week day to avoide crowded...and it's a PARADISE!!!
